This week, we are working on writing persuasive and argument text. Persuasive text is carried over from second grade. Argument writing is a new skill for 3rd grade. The difference in the two is: using logic instead of emotions to get one’s point across. We will also be reading books that help understand the difference. For example, I Wanna New Room, I Wanna Iguana and Mr. Coo and the Pigeon Problem.

Spelling this week: We are still reviewing phonics skills and increasing our spelling knowledge, as we try to close in gaps. The kiddos are loving using magnetic letters as a way to practice spelling of known and unknown words. Our spelling test this week will be a review, just like last week.

Social Studies: We are working on financial literacy again. Students are bringing home their vocabulary page today. This will be our vocabulary test on Friday.
