Learning Goals September 5-9

We are working hard in 3rd grade! REMEMBER: Monday is a school holiday! We will see everyone on Tuesday, Sept. 6

Reading: We are continuing to work on Fiction. We are reviewing story elements (characters, setting, plot events, problem/solution and theme). We are also working on story and academic vocabulary. We will read Storm in the Night and Mooncakes this week. 3.8ABCD; 3.3B; 3.10A,E

Writing/ Language Arts: We continue to use syllables to spell and work through words. We will write this week, concentrating on personal memories, using the writing process. Spelling this week will be (i) spelling multisyllabic words with closed syllables; open syllables; VCe syllables; vowel teams, including digraphs and diphthongs; r-controlled syllables; and final stable syllables. Spelling test will be next week. 3.11Dii, iii, iv3.2B iv

Social Studies: We will work on our community, on the map.
